Terms of Business

Barbara Rees will accept instructions and act for private individual clients, incorporated limited liability companies, business partnerships, landlords and tenants, corporate and institutional clients, via the following modes of appointment and remuneration ;-

Appointment as agent ;- Sole, joint or multiple agency.

Term ;- Fixed or variable term of appointment.

Method of Remuneration ;- Fee / commission based or a combination of both.

Scale of Fees ;- Fixed or variable fees / commission (according to the nature and class of business transacted)

Instructions to act ;- We can accept client specific / limited instructions to act in respect of a certain activity, alternatively, we can accept multiple instructions for a number of different business classes.

Contract ;- Formal terms of appointment are required and are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Client Identification & Source of Funds ;- Each client is required by law, to furnish Barbara Rees with acceptable verification of identity (I.D.), in the form of both personal, and residence identification. In addition, certain classes of business require Barbara Rees Ltd to obtain verification of the source of funds used to finance the class of business being transacted and Barbara Rees Ltd. will advise you of the relevant requirements in this regard, as and when applicable.

Legislation ;- Barbara Rees will endeavour to comply with the legislation and governing laws of England and Wales, applicable to the class of business being transacted.

We may collect and hold some information about you whether you are an existing customer or using our website for the first time and we collect personal information via online forms, telephone or written enquiries, or if you register with us for any of our services. By registering for our services or completing an on line enquiry form, you agree to us or one of our preferred / approved business partners contacting you to provide the service you indicated that you are interested in. You can also obtain some information about the properties, products and services we offer, without submitting any personal information and if you do not wish us to use any of your personal information for marketing purposes, please advise us accordingly or tick the appropriate box when completing the on line enquiry form. Any information retained by us is stored on a secure database in strict accordance with the data protection act.

  • Referring you and your needs to one of our preferred business partners / specialist service providers (We will not refer your details to a third party who is not a Barbara Rees Ltd. preferred or approved business partner, without first obtaining your consent).

Should any legal dispute arise, this website and it’s content is governed by the Laws of England and Wales and the language in which we communicate with you will be English. Complaints

Should be made in writing to :- The compliance officer, Barbara Rees Ltd. and sent to the company’s registered office, clearly stating the date of the event, the nature of your complaint, the member of staff involved and / or the address of the property concerned. Barbara Rees Ltd. will acknowledge receipt of your complaint within fourteen working days from the date of receipt at our registered office. Your complaint will then be investigated and a reply will be made to you within a reasonable timescale (subject to the nature and type of complaint received). Where a complaint involves a third party (other than a directly employed member of staff), Barbara Rees Ltd. accepts no responsibility for delays in processing the complaint (due to third party failure to comply with the investigation process). Barbara Rees Ltd. will not accept service of documents by fax or e mailed attachments nor will we respond to a third party without the appropriate complainant authority.
